Tribunnews.com The Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), Nadiem Makarim , presided over the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day for the first time within his ministry, Monday (28/10/2019).
Nadiem appeared to be wearing Javanese traditional clothing with white nuances complete with a brown blangkon.
Ministry of Education and Culture employees also wore traditional clothes at this ceremony. After presiding over the ceremony, Nadiem took a group photo with the Ministry of Education and Culture employees. It seems that employees are scrambling to take pictures with the former CEO of Gojek.
In his remarks, Nadiem conveyed a message that young people should not be afraid to step up to lead the nation.
“I’m sure that Indonesian youth are aware that in their hearts they are aware of where they want to go,” said Nadiem at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jakarta, Monday (28/10/2019).
He believes the potential of Indonesian youth in making breakthroughs will provide change for the nation.
“Young comrades, listen to me. The only failure is if we stay put and the only success is if we keep moving forward,” said Nadiem.
As is known, Nadiem Makarim was appointed Minister of Education and Culture by President Joko Widodo. He then resigned as CEO of Gojek after being summoned by President Joko Widodo to the state palace in the morning.
