SuaraPemerintak.ID –Â The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government won an award from the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) for its active participation in spurring the growth of creativity and intellectual property innovation in the context of national economic elections.
The award was given directly by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Yasona H Laoly to the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Marullah Matali during the Roving Intellectual Property Seminar at the Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, Monday (21/11).
Marullah Matali said that the award was a representation of the success of all the efforts of the regional government together with various elements in synergizing to utilize the intellectual property system to spur the growth of creativity, innovation and develop the national economy.
“I hope this appreciation can be a motivation for all of us to continue to produce various works that have intellectual property value,” he said.
According to him, this appreciation is also a motivation for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to prioritize the protection of intellectual property rights as one of the important pillars of protecting citizens’ works, maximizing the potential and economic resources of each region.
“The development of technology and innovation is a catalyst for accelerating economic growth in the future. What’s more, the COVID-19 pandemic has made innovation and creativity the cornerstone of economic recovery,” he explained.
He added that the Roving seminar with the theme “Stimulating Creativity and Innovation for National Economic Recovery” is very relevant to today’s digital era.
“It is imperative for local governments to understand comprehensively the benefits of the presence of an intellectual property system as one of the drivers of national economic recovery,” he explained.
He revealed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is proud to have been a part of realizing Indonesia’s vision as one of the world’s main economic actors supporting the strengthening of intellectual property ecosystems.
“Jakarta is the final region of the series of seminars in entering the transition period for the 2023 Brand Thematic Year,” he said.
Marullah explained, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government was prepared to support the president’s mission regarding intellectual property by improving the quality of Indonesian people; a productive, independent and competitive economic structure; and cultural progress that reflects the personality of the nation.
He hopes that this seminar will further strengthen the role and commitment of local governments and elements in the regions to create an intellectual property ecosystem to support economic recovery and resilience.
“The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has facilitated the registration of Trademark Rights for 1,500 MSMEs. In 2022, we have prepared 2,000 quotas for facilitation for MSMEs,” he said.
